Jill Shoffner, LCSW, Joins National Association of Social Workers
Jill Shoffner, Elder Care Coordinator Manager at Elder Law of East Tennessee, joined the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) this month. With 132,000 members, NASW is the world’s largest membership organization of professional social workers. Its missions is “to enhance the professional growth and development of its members, to create and maintain professional standards, and to advance sound social policies,” and NASW members are held to a strict code of ethics.Care coordinators at Elder Law of East Tennessee strive to better serve their clients by staying abreast of social work news and opportunities for continuing education and by networking with other professionals in the field. Through the NASW, Jill will have access to continuing education opportunities, a vast library of research and resources, and a nationwide network of other social workers serving elders and individuals with disabilities. And as a member of the Tennessee Chapter of the NASW, she gains access to a local network with whom she can troubleshoot challenging situations or develop policies to improve the lives of the populations we serve.Social work is an essential component of the planning we offer at Elder Law of East Tennessee. Our Life Care Planning services fully integrate legal and care planning to create a comprehensive plan for elders and people with disabilities. Our staff of care professionals, led by Jill, develop long-term relationships with clients to help them navigate the life transitions and care challenges associated with aging and disability. Jill works closely with her clients and their families and also with ELET’s legal team to ensure that clients receive the best possible care and families enjoy greater peace of mind.At ELET, we always strive to find new ways to provide better service for our clients. We are excited about Jill’s NASW membership and the opportunities it will provide for collaboration, networking, and education of our team members.
