Every client’s situation is different. I help my clients by looking at their circumstances and forming strategies to meet their unique goals. Clients rely on me, and I reassure them that there is a path forward even in difficult times, that I have traveled it before, and we can find solutions for them.

What excites you about your work?

I love the intellectual challenge presented by the law. I get excited about advocating for clients and learning to be a good employee leader. I’m inspired by the opportunity to be a creative problem-solver.

What do you love most about Elder Care Law of Tennessee?

We make a very real, very positive difference in the lives of our clients and form lasting friendships with them and their families. Our clients are wonderful people, and I love getting to know them. My staff are great souls, and I’m honored to work in a fun and supportive atmosphere.

Where can we find you when you’re not working?

Traveling to exciting places with my husband!

As the founder and managing partner of Elder Care Law of Tennessee, Amelia Crotwell leads with a strategic vision to expand and enhance elder care legal services across the region. With over two decades of dedicated service, Amelia has been at the forefront of addressing long-term care and special needs challenges for families. Her practice primarily focuses on Life Care Planning and special needs trusts.

Amelia actively collaborates with her team at Elder Care Law of Tennessee, bringing her deep expertise to bear on elder law issues, including wills, trusts, Medicare and Medicaid planning, trust administration, probate, and veterans benefits planning. She was credentialed as a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation in 2011. She is also an esteemed leader, currently past president of the Life Care Planning Law Firms Association, a national network of attorneys.

Her commitment extends beyond her firm as a member of the Special Needs Alliance, another national network of special needs lawyers. Amelia's leadership was instrumental in establishing the Tennessee chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, serving as its inaugural president. Her community involvement includes teaching elder law as an adjunct professor at the University of Tennessee College of Law, providing pro bono services, and educating other lawyers and community groups on elder law topics.
