More than 221,000 people have been vaccinated in the first four weeks of Tennessee’s vaccination initiative. With hope on the horizon, many are asking when am I eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and where do I get it?The Tennessee Department of Health offers clarification with their online resources and three step process outlined below.Find Your PhaseTennesseans can find out what phase of the vaccination plan they’re in by visiting Covid-19 Vaccines EligibilityFind the Phase Your County is Currently VaccinatingTo learn what phase your county is vaccinating, visit Covid 19 Vaccine PhasesRegister for a Vaccination AppointmentPeople who are in a phase currently being vaccinated in their county can register online with your county  for an appointment time to receive a vaccination through their county health department. Click your county on the map and then click “Make an Appointment” to register. Those who register will be asked to enter their name and contact information to be notified of their appointment date, time and location as soon as vaccine becomes available.Keep in mind that Covid-19 vaccine availability through the health department varies by county, and individual counties may progress through stages of vaccination at different times.If you receive healthcare coverage through the VA, click here to stay informed about vaccine eligibility and availability in your area. So far, the VA has 195 facilities across the country offering vaccinations, with more being added. Amelia Crotwell, founder and managing partner at Elder Law of East Tennessee, has guided families through long-term care and special needs challenges for nearly two decades. Specializing in Life Care Planning and special needs trusts, Amelia also collaborates across all areas of elder law, including wills, trusts, Medicare, Medicaid, probate, and veterans benefits planning. Certified as an Elder Law Attorney since 2011, she is president-elect of the Life Care Planning Law Firms Association and co-chair of their strategic planning committee. Amelia is deeply involved in the Special Needs Alliance and a prominent member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She played a key role in founding the Tennessee chapter of NAELA, serving as its first president.
